Cathie Wood has strategically capitalized on the recent market downturn to significantly strengthen her portfolio, focusing on robust companies whose shares have experienced considerable declines in recent days. Her investment approach—buying on dips—aims to secure substantial long-term returns.

During this bearish market phase, the head of Ark Invest has made a series of accelerated purchases. While the broader market has seen a downturn—with the S&P 500 posting nearly a 5% decline and the Nasdaq falling by around 9.2%—Wood has been actively acquiring positions in stocks that have suffered severe short-term setbacks.

On Monday alone, she acquired over 69,300 shares of Tesla (TSLA) for nearly US$15 million, at a time when the company’s share price had tumbled by more than 15%, its steepest fall in years. Additionally, she added more than 152,000 shares of Palantir (PLTR) and nearly 270,000 shares of Robinhood (HOOD) to her holdings. Both companies have seen monthly declines of approximately 31.5% and 33.5%, respectively.

Wood further expanded her investment in AMD, purchasing 147,551 shares valued at close to US$14 million. Her proactive approach extends into the cryptocurrency domain as well. A strong advocate for Bitcoin, she has taken advantage of a downward correction in the crypto market to acquire additional shares of Coinbase (COIN), a stock that, despite an 8.2% rebound on Tuesday, has seen its value drop nearly 36% over the past three months.

Top Holdings in Cathie Wood’s Portfolio

Following her latest acquisitions, Tesla remains the largest investment in her portfolio, with a market position worth over US$812 billion. Roku follows, and then Coinbase, with positions valued at approximately US$628 billion and US$602.5 billion, respectively. The list also includes other notable investments that underscore her confidence in high-growth sectors.

Rank Company Portfolio Value
1 Tesla Over US$812 billion
2 Roku Approximately US$628 billion
3 Coinbase About US$602.5 billion
4 Other Major Investment Nearly US$494 billion

This proactive and bold strategy highlights Wood’s commitment to navigating volatile markets. By targeting stocks that have experienced significant short-term declines, she positions herself to potentially reap sizable gains as these companies recover over time.
